Macrophomina phaseolina

After being dark green and damp at first, the surface lesion dried out and took on a brownish tint.  <i> <b> Macrophomina phaseolina </b> </i>
On this lesion we can clearly see a few tiny black structures: microsclerotia of <i> <b> Macrophomina phaseolina </b> </i>.
<i> <b> Macrophomina phaseolina </b> </i> developed on several branches which it surrounded.
The concentration of microsclerotia can sometimes be high.  <i> <b> Macrophomina phaseolina </b> </i>
It is mainly the external tissues of the stem that are affected by <i> <b> Macrophomina phaseolina </b> </i>.

Appearance of a globular and black pycnidia of <i> <b> Macrophomina phaseolina </b> </i>;  its diameter can fluctuate between 100 and 250 µm.
Hyaline, ellipsoid to oval conidia measuring 16-29 x 6-9 µm could be extracted by pressing a pycnidia.  <b> <i> Macrophomina phaseolina </i> </b>
