Asilidae are predators of lepidoptera whose contents they aspirate, predigested by enzymes injected by their trunk.
The Feltiella cecidomia larva is a formidable predator of mites.
Syrphe's pupil were the insect metamorphoses. Pups are most often observed near foci of pests.
