Final diagnosis

Lettuce mosaic virus (LMV)

The LMV 0 type strain did not cause any discernible symptoms on this resistant variety of lettuce. Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV)
The LMV 1 type strain bypasses resistance and induces thinning of the veins and a yellow mosaic of the leaves of the heart. Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV)
The LMV E type strain, which bypasses resistance, is one of the most virulent and damaging strains on lettuce. There are often many blistered, deformed leaves, with a very marked mosaic and vein thinning. Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV)
Quite classically, the lettuce infected lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV) have their leaves more or less mosaic and blistered.
Many leaves in the heart of this lettuce are heavily blistered, embossed ... Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV)
LMV can also induce embossing of the limbus and cause intense nerve yellowing, diffusing to surrounding tissues. Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV)
In addition to nerve clarifications, the limbus, slightly mottled and chlorotic, shows locally a localized "vein banding". Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV)
Careful observation of the limbus allows us to observe the presence of nerve enlightenments and darker colored blisters. Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV)
Following climatic contrasts or attacks from certain strains, necrotic changes are visible on the leaves. They can be tiny, localized for example at the ribs or arranged in wide areas. Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV)
In some cases, the blade may be more indented. This is the case of the curly chicory leaf on the left side; it contrasts with the healthy leaf on the right. Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV)
This curly chicory leaf, mosaicked by Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV), gradually necroses from the periphery of the leaf blade.
Flexuous viral particles 15nm in diameter and about 750nm long (potyvirus type). Lettuce mosaic virus ( Lettuce mosaic virus , LMV)
