Euphorbiaceae

 

The Euphorbiaceae family includes dicotyledonous plants including cassava which belongs to the Manihot species Manihot esculenta . Native to Central and South America, specifically the southwestern Amazon basin, it is a perennial shrub that is widely grown as an annual in tropical and subtropical regions for its starchy tuberous root. Its roots are generally eaten, but also its leaves and cassava flour.
