Apiaceae

 

The Apiaceae family, also called Umbelliferae, is made up of dicotyledonous plants mainly distributed in the temperate regions of the world. It is characterized in particular by its typical inflorescence, the umbel. Several species provide popular condiments, some are toxic like the great hemlock.

 

Several species belonging to different genera are cultivated in particular by vegetable producers: anise green , dill , carrot , chervil , celery , parsley , parsnip , fennel , coriander , cumin , etc. .
